Cottage 1 Senior Youth and Family Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Youth and Family Counsellor to join our Cottage 1 Program. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to children, youth, and families in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain a structured setting that fosters personal and social development for each client.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and training sessions to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide therapeutic support to children, youth, and families, including attendance at case conferences and involvement in intervention strategies.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy living environment, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Assist with daily tasks, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation of clients.
  • Complete required health and safety training and report any hazards or incidents to your supervisor.
  • Provide leadership to program staff, operationalizing a therapeutic milieu for clients and families.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or Nursing, with 4 years of experience in residential settings.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience working with young people is preferred.
  • Proof of professional registration may be required for certain diplomas or degrees.
  • A full, non-GDL class 5 driver's license and own transportation are necessary.
