Job Summary

RT Medical is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse RN to join our team in Madawaska Valley, Ontario. As a Registered Nurse RN, you will provide care to individuals who need assistance as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate a plan of care based on patient assessment in collaboration with the Care Team, facility, patient/family/caregiver and other health care professionals.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plan(s) and adjust accordingly in consultation with the patient/family/caregiver and other health care professionals.
  • Act as a patient advocate by protecting and promoting patient rights.
  • Occasionally work autonomously and to full scope of practice.
  • Perform other clinical duties as required.
  • Delegate as required within your scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, and/or community nurse considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Understand and respect economic, cultural, religious, racial, and gender diversity to provide inclusive and sensitive care to clients from various backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with computer and phone applications.
  • Experience in performing advanced, comprehensive health assessments in person or over a telemedicine platform.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg).
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner.
  • Excellent problem solving, time management, and crisis resolution skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and ability to build a therapeutic relationship with the client.

Education and Certifications Required

  • Have one of the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN).
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree (BN).
  • Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
  • Updated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months).
  • Clear criminal background check, and Vulnerable sector check are required upon hire.
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car.
