Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled financial professional to join our team as the Director of Financial Operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, business controlling, project controlling, and analysis, to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement the organization's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Lead the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of financial forecasts and long-term financial plans.
    • Provide financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, business controlling, and financial reporting.
    • Manage working capital and optimize financial performance.
    • Prepare and review monthly and yearly financial statements for the organization.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Establish performance metrics and manage the finance team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
    • Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Present financial results and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with other department heads to provide financial guidance and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years' experience in progressively senior-level financial or accounting/audit positions, ideally with a large international corporation.
  • Demonstrated supervisory capabilities.
  • Skilled in financial analysis, preparation of statements, and corporate reporting.
  • Able to identify risks as well as opportunities to provide feedback on decisions affecting financial results of the company.
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP accounting systems.

Salary Range

$170,000 to $200,000 CAD based on a work week.
