Position Overview:
The Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto is seeking applications for a full-time tenure stream faculty role specializing in Personality Psychology or Social Psychology. This position is designated for the rank of Assistant Professor.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair. This initiative aims to enhance diversity and address systemic barriers within the academic community. Therefore, consideration will be given exclusively to candidates who identify as Racialized persons, visible minorities, and/or Indigenous Peoples. This recruitment aligns with the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and rectifying the under-representation of these groups in academic leadership.
Research Expectations:
Tier 2 Chairs are intended for outstanding emerging scholars. Candidates should be within ten years of obtaining their Ph.D. Those who have been away from academia for over ten years due to circumstances such as maternity leave, parental leave, or health-related breaks may have their eligibility evaluated through the program's guidelines. The research focus of the nominee must correspond with the priorities of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
