Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Director to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of financial plans and budgets, as well as providing strategic financial guidance and support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets that align with the organization's strategic objectives
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the organization, including financial analysis and forecasting
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Manage and oversee the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies and plans
  • Provide financial guidance and support to operational areas, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, operational areas, and external partners
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis
Requirements
  • CPA recognized professional accounting designation
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or related discipline
  • Seven to ten years of recent, related financial accounting experience, including five years in a senior leadership role in a large complex organization
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and discretion
Competencies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices, trends, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, direct, manage, and implement change
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and business administration, including strategic and operational planning, monitoring, analytical, evaluation, and reporting expertise in a public sector and/or large complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to direct a variety of cyclical operational, budgeting, and financial planning processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making capabilities, including the ability to manage priorities and deadlines
