The Director of Financial Services (Operations and Systems) is a key leadership position within the Finance department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to the Accounting Services and Financial Systems teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services and systems.
- Oversee the maintenance and development of integrated financial information systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the University and the KPU Foundation.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and University policies.
- Manage and maintain financial systems, including cash management, banking, accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable.
- Provide training and support to finance and related staff on financial systems and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective financial planning and budgeting.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive senior experience in general accounting, budgeting, reporting, systems, audit, and leadership.
- Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (e.g. CIA, CPA, CA, CMA, and CGA) and in good standing.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting practices.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Proven ability to exercise tact and diplomacy, confidentiality, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to travel between campuses.
