Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any necessary safety or service tasks.
  • Prepare a detailed report on the reverse side of the repair order.
  • Estimate time requirements for each service recommendation using provided manuals and company guidelines.
  • Gather parts pricing and availability for each suggested service.
  • Execute all tasks as specified on the front of the repair order and authorized on the back, ensuring efficiency and precision in line with company and manufacturer standards.
  • Order parts upon receiving authorization, unless instructed otherwise, and document this on the repair order.
  • Preserve and label parts if the job falls under warranty or insurance, or upon customer request.
  • Perform road tests on vehicles after service whenever a wheel is removed or any repair that could impact drivability is completed (excluding routine oil changes or transmission fluid replacements).
  • Ensure all work is comprehensive, precise, and completed within the designated timeframe.
  • Oversee the work of apprentice technicians or students; promptly report any deficiencies to the Service Manager.
  • Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions as scheduled by management.
  • Attend dealer-specific training courses as scheduled by management.
  • Stay updated on all factory technical bulletins.
  • Learn and adapt to all current and emerging technologies relevant to automotive service.
  • Maintain a high level of focus to avoid repeat issues.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are returned in a condition equal to or better than their arrival, both inside and out.
  • Keep the workshop area tidy and organized at all times.
  • Clean work areas at the end of each shift.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling as necessary.
  • Comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Fully licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S or higher).
  • 3-5 years of experience in automotive mechanical operations.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and excel.
  • Team-oriented, diligent, and positive attitude.
  • Grade 12 diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in automotive mechanical operations.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and productive work ethic.
  • Capability to read and understand instructions and information.
  • Personable, dependable, and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and succeed.
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical skills.
