Job Title: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to families in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practice and clinical judgment.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating patient and family education, and making referrals to other resources as needed.
  • Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life-threatening situations, and document patient information, including assessments, plan of care, and progress.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and facilitate effective team work.
  • Participate in nursing orientation, share clinical knowledge, and participate in in-service presentations and educational programs.
  • Support nursing research, quality improvement activities, and contribute to the development of patient care policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Two years' recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and/or recent completion of a Neonatal Nursing Specialty certificate.
  • Current neonatal resuscitation certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and apply decision-making and analytical skills.
