Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre. As a key member of our NICU team, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Your expertise and experience will be essential in helping us to achieve our goal of providing the highest level of care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns and their families
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to identify their needs and develop effective care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the team
- Participate in education and training programs to stay up-to-date on the latest neonatal care practices and technologies
- Graduation from an approved program of Nursing Education
- Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
- Current CPR and Newborn Resuscitation Certification
- Neonatal Theory 1 from BCIT OR Completion of BCIT Neonatal Nursing Course diploma (or equivalent program)
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports
