Position Overview

The Physiotherapist is a vital member of the healthcare team, working collaboratively to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients within their homes and community settings. The Physiotherapist will engage with individuals, families, and groups to promote health and wellness through tailored physiotherapy interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Continuing Care to establish team objectives and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
  • Educate patients and their families on health promotion and physiotherapy practices.
  • Supervise and mentor physiotherapy students and assistants, ensuring quality care delivery.
  • Maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and community service providers.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the relevant Physiotherapy regulatory body.
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience as a Physiotherapist.
  • Ongoing professional development in relevant areas is advantageous.
  • Certification in CPR is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in community-based settings is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for patient visits.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, with French being preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Part-time position with a commitment of 80%, covering approximately 60 hours bi-weekly.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required, including potential evenings and weekends.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is competitive, reflecting the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Eligible candidates may also access a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental coverage, long-term disability, and a pension plan.
