Position Summary

The Program Officer for Reconciliation plays a vital role in advancing the objectives of the reconciliation sphere of interest by executing strategic initiatives and engaging with communities through various activities. This position is essential for reviewing funding requests, monitoring ongoing projects, collaborating with reconciliation partners, and providing comprehensive administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Support: Assist the Program Director in strategizing, communicating, and implementing the Foundation's reconciliation objectives and commitments.
  • Administrative Coordination: Provide full administrative support for the contribution process within the Reconciliation Sphere of Interest, overseeing the receipt, evaluation, and follow-up of funding requests.
  • Collaboration and Representation: Engage authentically with community partners, embodying the Foundation's values and reconciliation commitments, while exploring new avenues for reconciliation initiatives across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Functional bilingualism with strong oral and written communication skills in English or French.
  • Experience and insight into non-profit organizations and initiatives that serve communities.
  • Three to four years of experience in program administration and support.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to Indigenous frameworks and practices.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

  • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
