Job Summary

The President & COO – Bermuda is a key leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of Axcelus' Bermuda-based life insurance companies. This position requires a seasoned executive with a strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams, developing and executing business strategies, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of business strategies to drive growth and profitability in the Bermuda market.
  2. Oversee the management of Axcelus' Bermuda-based life insurance companies, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining good standing with the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
  3. Collaborate with Axcelus' home office to develop and implement shared services that support business objectives.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with key local service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  5. Act as Director and Officer of Axcelus Bermuda entities, ensuring proper governance and oversight.
  6. Ensure the global GVA business is supported from an onboarding perspective as well as an ongoing servicing perspective.
  7. Lead offshore business line, ensuring alignment with Axcelus' global business objectives.
  8. Play a critical role in the budget planning and financial oversight of the Bermuda carriers.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of experience in financial services, with a strong track record of leadership and strategic thinking.
  2. Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies, drive growth and profitability, and build high-performing teams.
  3. Strong understanding of the Bermuda regulatory environment and corporate governance requirements.
  4. Experience working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients and their representatives.
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to think creatively and solve complex problems.
  6. Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  7. BA/BS degree required.
