Job Description

Egis Group is seeking a highly skilled Highway Design Engineer to join our team of experts in transportation infrastructure design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and drafting engineering/construction drawings for various projects, including freeway widening and interchange reconstruction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Drafting: Create detailed engineering/construction drawings for highway design projects, utilizing software such as Civil 3D, InRoads, and Open Roads Design.
  2. Standards and Regulations: Interpret and implement standards from regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  3. Reporting and Communication: Produce written reports, meeting minutes, and project correspondence, as well as prepare and check contract tender item quantities.
  4. Design Spreadsheets and Charts: Create design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel and enhance data charts and tables for presentation.
  5. Project Coordination: Maintain positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and complete initial site inspections/field work for design assignments.
  6. Professional Development: Stay current on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/civil 3D/Microstation/InRoads/Open Roads Design, in consultation with senior CAD staff.
Requirements
  1. Education: Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in highway design, including MTO design. Will consider candidates with less years of experience if it includes MTO highway design.
  3. Skills and Qualifications: Excellent reputation working with MTO and local municipalities, experience with InRoads/Open Roads Design software, proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, well-developed computer and analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and time management.
  4. Additional Requirements: Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle that has valid registration and insurance.
