Manager, Transmission & Distribution
Position Overview
This role is focused on providing effective leadership and oversight for the Transmission and Distribution Division. The primary responsibility is to coordinate construction and maintenance operations within the division, ensuring efficient service delivery across the designated service area while also supporting territory-wide vegetation management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance and construction activities for electrical power transmission and distribution infrastructure.
- Collaborate with line crews, corporate departments, and financial teams to ensure accurate job estimations, timely setups, and proper invoicing processes. Review documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget proposals for transmission and distribution facilities.
- Coordinate daily operations with Customer Service Managers and staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient workflow management for line crews and contractors.
- Oversee the Vegetation Coordinator to maintain compliance with operational standards for Right of Ways and manage vegetation growth effectively.
- Manage capital projects, including defining project scopes, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies during project execution and closure.
- Perform additional duties as required by the role.
Qualifications
- Must possess a recognized Journeyperson Powerline Technician certification with a minimum of ten years of experience in utility-based transmission and distribution, including at least three years in a managerial capacity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS systems is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills, the ability to interpret blueprints, and a solid understanding of safety protocols are required.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's license is mandatory; a Class 1 license with airbrake endorsement is preferred.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check is required.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $58.55/hr to $73.18/hr, with additional location and accommodation allowances. A comprehensive benefits package is included, featuring health and dental coverage, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick leave, and a defined benefits pension plan.
