Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Brightshores. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting a safe and supportive environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage the health needs of surgical patients, providing supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical nursing.
  • Contribute to a culture of patient safety and quality improvement, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing evidence-based solutions.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility.
  • Physical Assessment course and Post-Anaesthetic Course.
  • Minimum of two years of current surgical experience within the last five years.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in nursing.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Additional education pertaining to surgery/medicine.
  • Broad surgical experience, with experience in all sub-specialties.
