Activity Leader, Before & After School Program

As a YMCA Activity Leader, you will thrive in a dynamic and enjoyable setting, facilitating tailored programming that allows children aged 5 to 12 to engage meaningfully in all facets of the program.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum age of 19 years. Experience working with children aged 5 to 12. Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR – C & AED. 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance, and/or Nutrition is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate effectively with team members to create an inclusive environment that supports children with diverse needs. Provide individualized support to children as needed within the program. Contribute to building a community atmosphere that promotes global support and inclusion for all children by recognizing their strengths and areas for growth. Assist children in resolving conflicts and model positive behaviors. Aid in the development, integration, and upkeep of care plans within the program. Offer additional support to ensure all children can participate fully, which may include providing individual assistance as necessary.

Important Information:

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Employment Type: Permanent, Part-time

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, morning and afternoon shifts

Reporting Structure: Reports to Team Leader
