Job Summary:
The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Before and After School Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children with diverse abilities and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with our staff team to provide individualized support and strategies for children with diverse needs.
- Provide enhanced ratio support to ensure all children in the program have a positive and inclusive experience.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Help children navigate conflicts and model positive behaviors.
- Assist in creating a community environment that promotes global supports and inclusion for all children.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Experience working with children aged 5-12 with additional support needs.
- Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED certification.
- 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance, and/or Nutrition an asset.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs.
- Experience with toileting support is required.
