Job Title: Youth Settlement Worker in Schools

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Settlement Worker in Schools to join our team at School District #38 (Richmond). The successful candidate will provide supplementary settlement support to newly immigrated at-risk students and their families as they integrate to life in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide home-school communication and support to immigrant youth and their families.
  • Assist with accessing community services and resources.
  • Facilitate workshops and orientation sessions to support the integration of immigrant youth.
  • Support youth with navigating the challenges of acculturation.
  • Collaborate with school-based teams to address the needs of immigrant youth.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent in human services, social sciences, counselling or social work.
  • Three (3) years' related experience working in a multicultural setting.
  • Demonstrated oral and written fluency in assigned language and English.
  • Understanding of Canadian and cross-cultural issues.
  • Knowledge of LGBTQ issues and concerns impacting youth today.
