Position Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Community Support Worker to join our team. This role is essential in delivering around-the-clock assistance to individuals in need. The position is based in the Toronto area and involves a part-time commitment of 25 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from Tuesday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
The Community Support Worker will play a crucial role in our Transitional Employment Program (TEP), which focuses on vocational rehabilitation for individuals with mental health conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Encouraging and empowering individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
- Providing support in various employment services such as office cleaning, landscaping, and event setup.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or an equivalent diploma with relevant experience.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification upon hire.
Experience and Skills
Successful candidates will possess:
- Experience in counseling related to mental health and developmental challenges.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation practices and case management.
- A valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License and a personal vehicle.
Essential Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email applications.
- High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
