Executive Director, National Indigenous Economic Prosperity Institute

Accoravillage is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the National Indigenous Economic Prosperity Institute (NIEPI). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for NIEPI, leading a team of professionals, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the Institute's goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic plan for NIEPI, aligning with the University's mission and goals.
- Lead a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure the successful delivery of NIEPI's programs and services.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Vice President University Relations, Vice President Academic, and Finance, to bring awareness of the National Indigenous Economic Strategy for Canada and the work of NIEPI.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including Indigenous organizations, businesses, and government agencies, to advance NIEPI's goals and objectives.
- Manage the NIEPI budget, developing and reviewing budgets and expenditures in collaboration with Senior Management.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Director of Research NIEPI, ensuring the successful delivery of research projects on Indigenous economic reconciliation, business, and entrepreneurship.
- Create digital infrastructure to serve as the national repository and archival resource of case studies, stories, and examples of work related to Indigenous economic prosperity.
- Develop and implement a paid Indigenous student mentorship/internship program within NIEPI to expand interest and knowledge of Indigenous economic prosperity and leadership.
- At least nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience, including five years in a senior management role, in positions providing exposure to community development, business development, and may include experience in Economic Development, Marketing, or Public Relations.
- Proven proficiency and experience facilitating, liaising, and advocating within an Indigenous organization and/or academic institution.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Outstanding interpersonal and community relation skills.
- An understanding of the unique relationship between the First Nations University of Canada and the University of Regina.
- Ability to speak a First Nations Language would be an asset.
