Pacston Canada is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to work remotely in Canada. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for crafting and editing legal documents for immigration petitions, including recommendation letters and petition letters for U.S. immigration. While a legal background is not required, experience in summarizing complex information and/or scientific research is highly valuable. A background in academic or technical writing and managerial experience are also desirable. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain training and exposure to the field of federal law and work on cases related to the advancement of U.S. interests and global migration. It also provides a chance to develop and diversify your professional writing skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit technical/legal documents and letters based on internal materials
  • Revise documents according to internal specifications and client feedback
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest immigration policies and strategies

Requirements

  • Excellent writing, editing, research, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to gain a basic understanding of various scientific topics
  • Ability to present complex research in clear, concise prose accessible to a wide audience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Outstanding client service skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Bachelor's degree or above
