The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach the fundamental techniques for theatrical performance in our Techniques II: Body/Voice/Speech course.
Course Description
This course focuses on the development of essential skills for theatrical performance, including voice, speech, and movement techniques. The instructor will guide students in mastering these skills, with a focus on in-person delivery.
Responsibilities
- Teach the Techniques II: Body/Voice/Speech course to a maximum of 20 students
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that cover the fundamental techniques for theatrical performance
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with other instructors to ensure a cohesive learning experience
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in teaching voice, speech, and/or movement at the university or conservatory level
- 5 years of continuous and recent professional experience as a director, creator, or performer of physically and vocally demanding performances
- Awareness of current theatre trends in Canada and internationally
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
