Job Title: Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clinical research studies, including participant recruitment, consent, and data collection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and screen research participants from clinics and community-based organizations
  • Liaise with healthcare providers and community organizations for recruitment purposes
  • Obtain informed consent and maintain essential documents and record keeping
  • Schedule and conduct study visit assessments, including dispensing trial medications and collecting and entering data into the electronic data capture system
  • Manage study supplies, maintain inventory, and provide honorarium to participants
  • Liaise with Finance staff to reconcile honoraria payments and participate in monitoring visits
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science or Health
  • At least two years of experience in health research setting and/or working on a clinical trial
  • Experience in sexual health or related fields is an asset
  • Familiarity with guiding principles of clinical research involving human participants and expertise in use of electronic spreadsheets (i.e. Excel)
  • Familiarity with REDCap and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
