Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resident Attendant to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a key member of our residence team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and document calls for assistance from residents, responding promptly and professionally.
  • Deal with emergencies, such as power outages, fire alarms, and crisis situations, demonstrating expertise and calmness.
  • Perform janitorial duties in common areas, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Respond to maintenance situations, such as plugged toilets, light bulbs, and other issues, using problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Ensure the security and well-being of residents, responding to calls for assistance and providing support where needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members, logging concerns and incidents in the Communication Book.
  • Demonstrate excellent public relations skills, building strong relationships with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Participate in in-service training and education, contributing to the establishment of a safe and supportive residence environment.
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate with formal training or prior experience working with senior clientele.
  • Ability to maintain effective oral and written communication, with a positive self-projection and excellent human relations skills.
  • Interest and knowledge in security systems and procedures.
  • Certification in Level 1 Basic First Aid and knowledge of WHMIS.
  • Experience in housekeeping and janitorial functions, general cleaning, and vacuuming.
  • Ability to respond to Alert System calls calmly and prioritize needs for assistance.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
