About Firebag Technical Solutions

We are a professional consulting engineering firm providing project planning, engineering design, and project management services to the Oil and Gas industry. Our expertise lies in conventional Oil and Gas projects, heavy oil (SAGD, CSS) processing, and enhanced oil recovery projects.

Main Duties and Competencies

The Instrumentation Lead will manage the Instrumentation group of a project or program, providing guidance and coaching to the team. Key duties include:

  • Leading a team of Instrumentation Engineers/Specialists and designers for a Sustainable program or multiple projects
  • Liaising with I&C vendors and engineering teams to resolve technical issues
  • Steering review sessions for I&C deliverables with project stakeholders
  • Coordinating with Project Management to align I&C activities with the project schedule
  • Reviewing and checking I&C deliverables, including datasheets, sizing calculations, and control drawings
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate/junior engineers
  • Representing the I&C team to clients and meeting their expectations
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least ten years of experience in I&C Engineering, with a majority in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Proven lead experience at project or program level
  • Experience with Oil and Gas industry projects of various sizes
  • Relevant degree or technology certification
  • Professional membership with APEGA or equivalent
  • Excellent diplomatic and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong analytical skills
