Position Overview

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Learning to spearhead the tactical execution of Cloud learning initiatives while also shaping the long-term strategic vision for Cloud education aligned with our Talent strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Assess organizational needs and implement impactful learning and performance programs tailored to the business objectives.
  • Develop, promote, and manage designated learning programs, conducting regular evaluations to enhance effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights to senior leadership regarding new initiatives and business decisions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies, influencing and negotiating to meet business goals.
  • Identify and analyze emerging trends to guide decision-making processes.
  • Design measurable strategies for program sustainability, addressing industry-specific risks and opportunities.
  • Build comprehensive business cases by evaluating needs, analyzing options, and estimating return on investment.
  • Define and recommend learning strategies that align with business objectives, securing necessary approvals.
  • Conduct independent analyses to address strategic challenges and inform stakeholders.
  • Establish business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor program performance, producing regular reports and dashboards to track progress.
  • Lead the communication strategy to effectively influence and change behaviors within the organization.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure consistency in messaging and to foster positive behavioral changes.
  • Manage operational programs, adapting strategies as necessary to maintain high-quality execution.
  • Evaluate and mitigate program risks, providing updates to senior leaders on any concerns.
  • Support the development of learning strategies that align with BMO's overarching goals.
  • Provide guidance on implementing solutions that address performance gaps, focusing on high-value learning deliverables.
  • Facilitate learning courses and programs to help leaders and employees achieve their performance objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Participate in vendor management, ensuring performance metrics are met and costs are controlled.
  • Support strategic initiatives by tracking key metrics and milestones.
  • Adapt to changing trends and continuously update programs to maintain competitiveness.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, complemented by a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in learning design and facilitation.
  • Strong program management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities.
