We are seeking an accomplished leader to serve as Acting Manager of Infrastructure who will be a champion of building community and organizational best practices in delivering services to the local community.

Reporting to the General Manager of Infrastructure and Municipal Works, the Manager of Infrastructure provides leadership for the Infrastructure Division which includes both the Infrastructure Planning (Engineering) and Transportation (Traffic) Divisions. These divisions are responsible for the design, construction, asset management and capital planning for the majority of the City’s core infrastructure assets.

The City’s core linear infrastructure includes: about 400 km of sewers; 275 km of roadways; 270 km of watermains; 6 pumping stations; more than 200 km of sidewalks and 40 km of recreational path; more than 5,000 street lights; nearly 70 signalized intersections; and more than 25 bridges and large culverts - which together have a replacement value of over $1.5 billion.

The Infrastructure Planning Division provides engineering expertise which includes: capital planning, asset management, GIS, project design and construction management for the City’s linear infrastructure as well as oversees the subdivision agreement and right-of-way control approval processes.

The Transportation Section is responsible to design, operate and maintain effective traffic control systems including traffic signals, traffic signs, street lighting as well as the management of School Crossing Guards for student safety during the school year.

**Key Position Requirements**:

- Professional Engineer registered in the Province of Ontario
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of recent related progressive leadership experience
- Experience in budget preparation and management
- Related experience in municipal design and construction
- Working knowledge of all relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills
- Oversight and mentoring unionized and non-unionized staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The proven ability to present and speak in public
- Strong work ethic and customer service orientation
