Job Title: Corporate Law Clerk

We are seeking a highly motivated Corporate Law Clerk to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of the Corporate Secretariat, you will be responsible for providing support to our real estate business, Oxford Properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of legal and administrative duties, coordinating and assisting senior law clerks or lawyers with assigned matters.
  • Prepare routine minute book documentation and corporate filings.
  • Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of Oxford's business and establish a strong working relationship with the Oxford Properties legal, tax, and finance teams.
  • Conduct complex corporate reviews and due diligence in connection with transactions, recommending and drafting rectification materials as necessary.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to legal assistants and junior law clerks, fostering a respectful and collaborative learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a law clerk program recognized by the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
  • 5-10 years of related experience gained in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • A Member in good standing with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant corporate statutes.
  • Superior administrative, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Outlook, and corporate databases.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Competent research and problem-solving skills.
