Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Lab Patient Technician to join our team in Thunder Bay, ON. As a Lab Patient Technician, you will play a critical role in the specimen collection process, ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and prepare patients for specimen collection, ensuring that they understand the testing process and any necessary protocols.
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients, using aseptic techniques and following established protocols.
  • Prepare specimens for transportation and testing, ensuring that they are accurately labeled and stored.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, test results, and specimen collection data.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and efficient laboratory operations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn laboratory software.
