Restaurant Equipment Service Specialist

Position Overview:
As a key member of Ecolab's sales force, you will take on the role of a Service Equipment Technician, responsible for the Thunder Bay region and its neighboring areas. This position is part of our leading Institutional division, which provides a wide range of chemical products and solutions tailored to the needs of clients in the foodservice and hospitality sectors. Following a comprehensive training program, you will engage with various establishments including restaurants, hotels, educational institutions, and long-term care facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to represent Ecolab by installing, servicing, and maintaining ware washing, laundry, and dispensing systems, ensuring a positive experience for guests and fostering cleaner, safer, and healthier environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your mechanical skills to install, repair, and maintain ware washing, laundry, and dispensing equipment, enhancing customer relationships through your service.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with a diverse range of commercial kitchen and laundry appliances.
- Ensure safe equipment operation, guaranteeing that customer facilities remain fully functional and that teams are properly trained.
- Manage parts inventory, usage, and costs; complete necessary service work reporting.
- Maintain operational efficiency of customer facilities by demonstrating safe equipment use and training teams accordingly.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required; post-secondary education is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in mechanical problem-solving (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or mechanical experience).
- Flexibility to adapt your schedule and working hours to meet customer needs.
- Willingness to travel to the US for training and meetings.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record are necessary.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required at certain customer locations.
Coverage Area:
Thunder Bay and its surrounding regions.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday with alternating weekend coverage. When covering weekends, the work week will be shortened.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stretching, and twisting (up to 50% of the time).
- Reaching above, at, and below shoulder level during installations (up to 50% of the time).
- Crouching, kneeling, and crawling (approximately 30% of the time).
- Repetitive movements (up to 50% of the time).
- Manual dexterity for installation, wiring, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (up to 50% of the time).
- Use of power and hand tools (up to 50% of the time).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the service industry with mechanical skills (refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or military experience).
- Customer service experience with direct interaction with clients.
