Environmental Instrumentation Field Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Services Technician to join our Instrumentation & Data Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in field operations of oceanographic and terrestrial data acquisition programs.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy, maintain, repair, and calibrate equipment in a field environment, ensuring high levels of health, safety, and environmental awareness.
- Conduct system operational checks, remote troubleshooting of monitoring systems, and system integration for customized monitoring applications in the office.
- Collaborate with the Technical Manager to achieve project deliverables and milestones, working within a team of peers to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and provide technical support to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
- Conduct daily system checks for both marine and terrestrial monitoring applications, ensuring data accuracy and quality.
- Manage the warehouse, coordinating with the Technical Manager on organization, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and documentation.
- Engage in technical writing in support of projects and proposals, communicating complex technical information effectively.
- Diploma in Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering Technology, with relevant experience.
- Experience with Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs), wave buoys, mooring construction, Campbell Scientific dataloggers, Vaisala Remote Processing Units (RPUs), managing contractors, and construction experience is a definite asset.
- Ability to travel extensively, including by vessel, fixed wing, or rotary aircraft, and adapt to changing environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to pass required health and safety training programs and maintain a clean driving record.
