Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automotive Service Technician Apprentice to join our team at Northumberland Tirecraft Port Hope. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians, gain hands-on experience, and develop your skills in automotive repair and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service requirements.
- Work closely with licensed Automotive Service Technicians for guidance and mentorship.
- Inspect and test motor vehicles, automotive systems, and components using computerized diagnostic and testing devices to diagnose issues.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
- Inspect and test mechanical components, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults, possible defects, and malfunctions.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with licensed Automotive Service Technicians to determine whether to repair or replace units.
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
- Consistently able to work independently.
Qualifications
- Minimum completion of 2nd year 310S apprenticeship.
- Previous experience in automotive repairs and service.
- Previous experience with tires (installation and repairs).
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Strong communication skills.
