We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team at Performance Auto Group. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that all vehicles are repaired to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Prepare detailed reports on the back of the repair order.
- Estimate flat rate times for each recommendation using supplied manuals and company policies.
- Obtain parts prices and note availability for each recommendation.
- Perform all work as outlined on the repair order, with efficiency and accuracy, and in accordance with company and factory standards.
- Order parts when authorization is received, unless specifically told otherwise.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or insurance, or if requested by the customer.
- Road-test vehicles after service, whenever a wheel is removed, or a repair that might affect drivability is performed.
- Ensure that all work performed is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.
- Supervise work of apprentice technicians or students, and report any deficiencies to the Service Manager.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes as scheduled by management.
- Attend dealer-specified training courses as scheduled by management.
- Keep abreast of all factory technical bulletins.
- Learn and understand all current and emerging technologies as they apply to automobile service.
- Maintain a high degree of concentration to prevent "comebacks".
- Ensure that customer cars are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.
- Keep the shop area neat and clean at all times.
- Clean bay and bench at the end of each shift.
- Dispose of garbage, recycling, etc. as required.
- Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Automotive Service Technician, fully licensed (310S or higher).
- One to three years experience with automotive mechanical operations.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Licensed Class A Technician considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license with a good driving record.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a willingness to learn.
- Must be team oriented, hardworking, strong work ethic, punctual with a positive attitude.
