Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with commercial transport truck systems, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to determine the best course of action for repairs or replacements.
  • Discuss work progress and challenges with supervisors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions, taking prompt corrective action as needed.
  • Review work orders carefully to understand customer requirements and specifications.
  • Road test motor vehicles to verify their safe operation and compliance with industry standards.
  • Test automotive systems and components to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services to prevent equipment downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete reports to document problems and work performed, maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to queries and concerns.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification.
  • Tire, wheel, and rim mechanic certification.
  • Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension, and Brakes) Trade Certification.
  • Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C).
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate.
