Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused General Merchandise Associate to join our team at Walmart Canada. As a key member of our retail sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with the sale of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers with product inquiries, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide personalized recommendations to meet their expectations.
  • Store Maintenance
    • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by adhering to company standards and procedures.
    • Zone and stock merchandise in a timely and efficient manner to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers.
  • Inventory Management
    • Assist with the receipt, storage, and stocking of merchandise to ensure accurate inventory levels.
    • Monitor and report any discrepancies or issues with inventory to management in a timely manner.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with other associates to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience for customers.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure that all tasks and responsibilities are completed in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • Previous retail sales or customer service experience an asset.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
