We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Examiner to join our team at the Government of Alberta.
About the RoleThe Medical Examiner will be responsible for conducting autopsies and surgical specimen examinations under the supervision of pathologists. This role requires a strong understanding of pathology and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct autopsies and surgical specimen examinations under pathologists' supervision
- Remove organs and tissue specimens from bodies in the morgue as directed by the pathologist
- Assist with specialty residency training and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
- Develop and maintain expertise in pathology and related fields
- Doctoral degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
- 5 years or more of experience in a related field
- Specialty residency training and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
