Position Overview

The Food Service Supervisor at St Bar $ Grill plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our culinary team. This position requires a blend of leadership, organization, and a passion for quality food service.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of College/CEGEP or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a supervisory role within the food service industry.
Work Environment

This role is set in a fast-paced restaurant environment, where the ability to work under pressure is essential. The supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of 11-15 individuals, including cooks, servers, and kitchen helpers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective methods to meet work schedules.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in food preparation and portioning.
  • Train team members on job responsibilities, sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Estimate necessary ingredients and supplies for meal preparation.
  • Ensure that food quality and service standards are consistently met.
  • Prepare budgets and cost estimates for operations.
  • Address customer complaints and concerns professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, repairs, sales, and waste.
  • Compile and submit operational reports.
  • Prepare food order summaries for the head chef.
  • Supervise the assembly of food trays and the delivery of food trolleys.
  • Establish work schedules for the team.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The supervisor will oversee a diverse team, including:

  • Cooks (general)
  • Food and beverage servers
  • Food service counter attendants and food preparers
  • Kitchen and food service helpers
Safety and Security

A criminal record check is required for this position to ensure a safe working environment.

Transportation

Personal transportation is necessary for commuting to the workplace.

Physical Requirements

The role demands:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of food service.
