We are currently looking for a part-time, on-demand, seasoned environmental compliance advisor with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our team based in the Central Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct biological surveys and provide environmental compliance services at various project sites.
  • Prepare and review environmental documentation essential for permitting and ensuring adherence to permit conditions throughout construction and operational phases.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and environmental resource specialists to ensure quality assurance and quality control of survey reports, field records, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with natural resource technical specialists and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) or equivalent experience.
  • Self-driven with a desire to learn and develop within a project team.
  • Prior experience in conducting and leading field surveys.
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations.
  • Qualified biologist capable of surveying and monitoring special-status wildlife and plant species, including nesting birds.
  • Experience executing species-specific regulatory protocols.
  • Proficient in performing final quality assurance and quality control of technical reports and compliance documents.
  • Ability to identify common and rare plant species, including the use of dichotomous keys.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and active personal automobile liability insurance is required.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a remote or office-based setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The role involves outdoor project site visits, which may include exposure to excessive noise, uneven terrain, extreme weather conditions, and moving vehicles and equipment.

Additionally, the job entails working on a computer, requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing in an office or remote environment. Attendance at meetings, both in-person and virtual, as well as communication via phone with colleagues and clients, is also necessary.
