Position Overview: This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a prominent, international Building Materials organization. The selected candidate will oversee environmental compliance and performance across multiple facilities spanning three states. Additionally, this position will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainability initiatives within operations that encompass cement production, asphalt, ready-mix, and various aggregate mining sites.

Job Title: Sustainability and Environmental Compliance Director

Company: CSG Talent

Location: Southern Prairie Provinces (Base location with regular travel requirements)

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 + Bonus + Vehicle + Relocation Assistance (if necessary)

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Sustainable Resource Development

Operational Scope: Multiple Industrial Facilities Across the Region

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operational permitting processes and conduct environmental impact assessments.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and consultations with First Nations to support the development of new reserves and sites.
  • Manage environmental assessments related to land acquisitions.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations at all governmental levels including Federal, Provincial, County, Municipality, and City.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of environmental systems and strategies.
  • Champion environmental best practices across all facilities.
  • Gather relevant environmental compliance data and generate necessary reports.
  • Support the organization’s sustainability objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of capital approval requests and lead their execution.
  • Implement corporate guidelines, complete required training, and monitor compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training across all organizational levels.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, offering recommendations and ensuring follow-up on corrective actions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in an Environmental-related discipline.
  • Experience in the Mining, Cement, Aggregates, or Construction sectors.
  • Significant fieldwork experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes, regulations, and state laws.
  • Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across multiple states.
