Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a skilled Paint Kitchen Technician to join our team. As a Paint Kitchen Technician, you will be responsible for preparing paint by adding solvents to reduce strength and supplying the paint line. Our paint line is first in class in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Paint Preparation: Prepares paint by adding solvents to raw paint and ensures proper viscosity.
  • Paint System Maintenance: Flushes and cleans paint systems to run multiple colours.
  • Inventory Management: Receives paint, solvents shipments and supplies and stores in proper place and rotates stock.
  • Waste Management: Collects reclaimed solvents and ensures that it is pumped into waste totes and shipped out.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Supplies and maintains 26 permanent paints system, clears, ad pro and catalysts.
  • Record Keeping: Records paint load into a log recording system, records purge solvent usage and reclaimed solvent usage on daily usage sheet.
  • Quality Control: Performs daily viscosity checks and records on viscosity check sheet.
  • Supply Chain Management: Orders solvents, filters and paint kitchen supplies as required.
  • Filter Replacement: Changes all paint system filters.
  • System Flushes: Performs weekly system flushes as assigned by paint management.
  • Equipment Inspection: Ensures all pumps and agitators are running and well-oiled.
  • Lift Truck Maintenance: Maintains lift trucks by using a daily check list.
  • Paint Transfer: Changes totes and ensures grounding straps are used when transferring paint from drum to drum, and using lift trucks and agitators.
  • Paint Scheduling: Checks paint schedule to ensure that required paint is available.
  • Health and Safety: Reports any health and safety issues to supervisors and or process techs.
  • Drum Disposal: Empties all solvent drums before putting them on skids for removal.
  • Labeling: Ensures all pails are properly labeled to avoid confusion of contents.

  • Communication: Good communication, painting, safety conscious and organizational skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy drums of paint and to learn different shades of paint.
