About the Role

The Vision Specialist is a dedicated professional who specializes in diagnosing and managing eye movement disorders and related visual impairments through advanced assessment techniques and data analysis.

This position involves executing a range of technical assessments to gather diagnostic information essential for the treatment of ocular conditions. Additionally, the Vision Specialist plays a crucial role in educating medical students and residents in the field.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in clinical vision science
  • Graduation from an accredited Orthoptics/Ophthalmic Medical Technologists program
  • Certification from the Canadian Orthoptic Council JCAHPO at the technologist level
  • Prior experience in a role as an orthoptic technologist
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset

Work Schedule
  • Permanent Part-time, 80% FTE, 60 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage is $43.80. Eligible candidates will have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
