About the Role

Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals who are blind or partially sighted to develop the skills and strategies they need to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify their strengths, needs, and goals
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to help clients achieve their goals
  • Provide training and education to clients and their families on adaptive skills, technology, and other areas of need
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to share knowledge and best practices
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists in Nova Scotia and willingness to obtain registration in PEI
  • Experience working with individuals who are blind or partially sighted, preferably in a community-based setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
