This full-time, permanent position is based in Calgary and reports directly to the Manager of Geosciences. We seek a proactive individual with outstanding technical and interpersonal abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with regional teams to interpret and analyze seismic data for exploration and development initiatives.
  • Assist in planning well locations, field development strategies, and completion designs.
  • Evaluate drilling and completion data to integrate findings with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of diagnostic plans aimed at optimizing well performance and capital efficiency.
  • Support joint ventures and land management in assessing land transactions and operational activities.
  • Utilize inversion data to enhance reservoir characterization.
  • Lead efforts to extract additional insights from existing datasets.
  • Work closely with engineering, land, and operations teams to develop budgets and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Occasional travel may be required for field assessments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics.
  • APEGA Professional Geophysicist designation with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in seismic interpretation and familiar with geophysics workstations.
  • Experience with software such as Seisware, RokDoc, Transform, and Petrel is advantageous.
  • Strong background in seismic data processing and acquisition.
  • Knowledge of rock physics, geomechanics, and rock properties.
  • Experience in exploration and production within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
  • Understanding of induced seismicity and BCER regulations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a geosciences team and communicate findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with the geology of the WCSB.
