We are currently looking for a skilled Geophysicist to enhance our Geosciences team. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and technical abilities and will be a proactive self-starter. This full-time, permanent role is based in Calgary and reports to the Manager of Geosciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional teams to interpret and analyze seismic data, generating targets for exploration, exploitation, pilot projects, and delineation.
  • Assist in the planning of well locations, field development strategies, and completion designs.
  • Analyze data from development wells during drilling and completion phases, integrating findings with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the design and execution of diagnostic and data collection plans to enhance well design and recovery rates, while improving capital efficiency.
  • Support joint ventures, land management, and business development efforts by evaluating land transactions and related activities.
  • Utilize inversion data to aid in reservoir characterization.
  • Lead initiatives to extract additional insights from existing datasets.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, land, operations, and geoscience teams to develop budgets and ensure timely project execution.
  • Occasional travel may be required for field assessments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics.
  • APEGA Professional Geophysicist designation with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in seismic interpretation and familiarity with geophysics workstations.
  • Knowledge of software such as Seisware, RokDoc, Transform, and Petrel is advantageous.
  • Strong background in seismic data processing and acquisition.
  • Understanding of rock physics, geomechanics, and rock properties.
  • Experience in exploration and exploitation within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
  • Familiarity with induced seismicity and BCER regulations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a geosciences team and communicate findings clearly.
  • Knowledgeable in the geology of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
