Social Performance Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Performance Superintendent to join our team at Newcrest Mining's Red Chris Mine. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing systematic social performance and community relations programs that support the mine's operations and contribute to the company's overall social responsibility goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement social performance strategies that align with Newcrest Mining's global standards and industry best practices.
- Lead community engagement and stakeholder relations efforts to build and maintain positive relationships with local communities and Indigenous groups.
- Manage social impact assessments and related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social performance considerations into project planning and operations.
- Develop and monitor community investment and development programs, aligning with local community needs and priorities.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Social Performance team, ensuring effective implementation of social performance programs and initiatives.
- At least 10 years of experience in mining social performance and social risk management, with a strong understanding of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective social performance strategies and programs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with local communities and Indigenous groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate social risks and opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
