Job Title: Flooring Installation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installation Specialist to join our team at Shalimar Construction Company Limited.

Job Summary

The Flooring Installation Specialist will be responsible for installing various types of flooring, including carpeting, hardwood, and vinyl decking materials. The ideal candidate will have experience working with different flooring materials and have a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Measure: Inspect surfaces to be covered and measure them accurately to determine the required materials.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare and Install Flooring: Measure, cut, and install carpeting, hardwood, and vinyl decking materials, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Conduct Tests and Inspections: Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure the surface is suitable for the chosen material.
  • Estimate and Manage Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each project and manage inventory to ensure timely completion.
  • Remove and Dispose of Old Flooring: Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants, and dispose of them responsibly.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in flooring installation, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
Work Environment

The Flooring Installation Specialist will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with regular exposure to dust, noise, and physical demands. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
