Position Overview

The Country Head of Actuarial Services for Hong Kong will lead the Valuation Shared Services Centre (VSSC) within the Asia Division. This role is pivotal in delivering precise and timely liability system solutions and analytics to the business units across Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the comprehensive reporting processes, ensuring adherence to established change control protocols and industry standards.
  • Manage a team of actuarial professionals, fostering an environment of engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the execution of all IFRS and local reserves, along with capital calculations, while maintaining valuation models and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Hong Kong business units and the VSSC, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead the end-to-end reporting process for IFRS 17, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and delivering quality results.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the actuarial team, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Encourage innovation and teamwork, driving high performance and creativity within the team.
  • Oversee the training and development of junior staff in actuarial principles and financial reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • Fellowship in a recognized international actuarial body with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across various levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and tools, with a focus on Moody's Axis and Risk Integrity being advantageous.
