We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buyer Student to join our team at IPEX for the Winter 2025 Co-Op Term. This exciting opportunity is based in our Edmonton Plant and offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain management.

The successful candidate will assist in implementing purchases consistent with parameters set out by the budgetary and forecasting exercises to support business needs. They will also identify opportunities to improve site efficiencies and respond to the needs for procurement of goods and services to support the site's operations and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with site purchasing activities and indirect items.
  • Support PO Management, Inventory Management & Supplier Payments.
  • Find opportunities to increase site efficiencies.
  • Monitor supplier performance and keep Plants abreast of potential supply chain risks.
  • Assist with procurement of indirect items as requested.
  • Monitor KANBAN/Min-Max to lead inventory levels.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in college/university studying Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Proficient user of Excel/Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of sourcing & procurement techniques.
  • Experience using various MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and teamwork skills.
  • Well-developed organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making & problem-solving skills.
