We seek a leader within the legal profession skilled, ready, and capable to step into a leadership position with a growing and leading organization. The successful individual will have a law degree (LL.B. or JD), with active membership in good standing with a provincial or territorial law society. Professional experience will include multiple years of experience in a law firm or in-house counsel role, particularly in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements, extensive knowledge of federal and provincial compliance, regulatory, and employment laws. Experience in international business law is preferred.
This role requires strategic insight and the ability to provide tailored legal counsel that meets the specific needs of senior management and other key stakeholders. This will be demonstrated by the ability to develop innovative legal strategies that align with and support business objectives and exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships.
Proactive and adaptable, the General Counsel is self-motivated with a positive outlook, adept at navigating change and solving complex legal challenges creatively. Able to work across all levels of the organization and with external partners. A track record of engaging and developing teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture is essential.
