Mines and Minerals Specialist Job Opportunity

The MMF Métis Youth is seeking a highly skilled Mines and Minerals Specialist to join our Energy, Infrastructure and Resource Management Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and analyzing mineral exploration, mine development, and reclamation related matters, and providing recommendations to the MMF Cabinet.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geology, environmental studies, or resource management, and experience in policy and program development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing policy options and recommendations based on research and analysis;
  • Preparing information and options to present to the MMF Cabinet;
  • Preparing annual and monthly activity reports;
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual work plans;
  • Preparing program and funding proposals;
  • Assisting in negotiations for services and contracts;
  • Attending community workshops and meetings and coordinating the facilitation of meetings.
